Mayfair Pottery was founded in 1952 by my parents, Syd and Trudy Deakin, as a pottery decorating business. starting out in very humble premises in Burslem, Stoke–on-Trent. They quickly built up a considerable reputation for quality and service, moving into larger premises in 1956. Due to continued demand for their products, in 1962 they purchased a large plot of industrial land and in 1963 built there own state of the art factory, from where the company still operates today.
I have worked within in the company since 1977 moving up from director to managing director when my parents retired in 1995. I have overseen the companies rise in the overseas market, and we now export our extensive range of quality british products worldwide, in addition to our already established home market. Adam, my eldest son, has now joined the company, taking it into a third generation of a long established local family business.
